Botox for aesthetic use is indicated to smooth wrinkles and expression lines on the face. Among the lines treated are: Forehead wrinkles, crease in the glabella (space between the eyebrows) and chicken feet (wrinkles that form around the eyes).
What is it for?
The procedure is indicated for men and women who wish to treat glabella wrinkles. (region between the eyebrows), forehead wrinkles, around the lips and crow's feet. The procedure is also indicated for those who want to raise eyebrows, open their eyes (westernization of orientals), lift the tip of the nose, lift the corner of the mouth, correct gummy smile and for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excess sweat) in armpits, hands and feet.
What are the benefits?
In addition to treating wrinkles and expression lines, Botulinum Toxin (botox) has a preventive effect of these marks. For some it may seem exaggerated to apply it to young people, but it is not. If the person does a lot of "facial mime", the temporary relaxation of muscles provided by Botulinum Toxina (botox) it ends up decreasing muscle movement and, consequently, the habit of contracting parts of the face responsible for expression wrinkles is lost.

Application
The treatment is done by superficially injecting small amounts of the toxin directly into the muscles you want to relax. The procedure is well tolerated, causing a slight burning sensation and takes only a few minutes, with no prolonged recovery period. People with greater sensitivity can use anesthetic ointments to lessen the pain. The effect of botulinum toxin takes 3 to 7 days to appear and lasts around 6 months. It diminishes little by little and, after several months, the skin returns to the appearance it had before the treatment. The reapplication time varies according to the patient. After repeated treatments, the treated muscle may lose its strength, so the results are increasingly lasting.
