Application
The treatment is done by superficially injecting small amounts of the toxin directly into the muscles you want to relax. People with greater sensitivity can use anesthetic ointments to lessen the pain. The effect of botulinum toxin takes 3 to 7 days to appear and lasts around 6 months. It diminishes little by little and, after several months, the skin returns to the appearance it had before the treatment. The reapplication time varies according to the patient. After repeated treatments, the treated muscle may lose its strength, so the results are increasingly lasting.
